The CJEP launched a 30-hour health and safety training program for construction sites (ASP Construction), in partnership with the Pontiac Continuing Education Center and the Western Québec School Board’s Business Services.
This training, offered directly at our premises, enabled nine participants from our social integration enterprise, often marginalized from the job market and without qualifications, to obtain a recognized and essential certification for working in construction.
Through this program, it was possible to:
- acquire a practical skill sought after by employers;
- strengthen self-confidence and motivation;
- access a sector in high demand in the region;
- learn in a supportive and stimulating environment.
Three employees from local partner companies also attended the training, which fostered exchanges between different work environments and strengthened the link between social integration and local economic development.
This initiative clearly illustrates the CJEP’s mission: to offer sustainable tools to facilitate the transition to employment, while mobilizing Pontiac’s strengths around inclusive employability.
